Hammerglass is the new generation of unbreakable polycarbonate glass with nano surface treatment. A durable, wear-resistant polycarbonate sheet that is 300 times stronger than glass and virtually unbreakable.
Hammerglass lenses are coated with a thin layer of silicon oxide that protects them from scratches and wear. A nanotechnology surface treatment makes Hammerglass resistant to most chemicals, making it easy to remove graffiti from the surface - and prevents pollutants from exhaust fumes, oil and asphalt from adhering to Hammerglass as easily as to ordinary glass.
The surface treatment also offers 99.96% UV protection, which means that the material does not opacify, discolour or otherwise change its optical quality over time.
The estimated life span is over 40 years. In the event of a fire, Hammerglass does not contribute to the spread of flames. With its many positive features, its EN 356 P8B safety class certificate and its weight half that of traditional glass, Hammerglass is an excellent choice for both new installations and glass replacement.
