Safety glass for bridges
Noise protection and fall protection on bridges can be both highly functional and decorative. Hammerglass AB offers glazing and fastening solutions for every conceivable road and rail bridge solution, as well as for pedestrian and cycle bridges. With a wide range of fixing methods available for the installation of Hammerglass panels, a bridge can be more than just a traffic route. The use of nanotechnology means that pollutants from exhaust fumes, oil and asphalt do not adhere as easily to hammerglass as to ordinary glass. Hammerglass has an estimated lifespan of over 40 years.
Colour and light
The colour and LED lighting create an attractive focal point. Hammerglass can be screen printed or digitally printed, so there are no limits to individual design options. The discs can be provided with a municipal coat of arms or patterns that repeat at regular intervals. For large series of plates, it is possible to produce coloured hammered glass. A pane of printed or colour impregnated hammered glass with LED lighting forms an attractive point of light in the dark at night.
Glasses for road bridges
No two bridges are alike. In densely populated areas, a noise solution is often required, while in other cases splash protection or fall protection may be preferable.
PROTECTION AGAINST NOISE
BRIDGE-2 and BRIDGE-systems 3 are complete noise protection systems for mounting on bridges along roads or railways. Depending on the bridge design, the structures are attached to the bridge columns or to the side of the bridge girder.

SPRAY GUARD
The robust Hammerglass mudguard is designed for multi-level viaducts/intersections. The inclined post system is based on the same principle as the Hammerglass electric screens. The construction is usually screwed to the side of the bridge edge beam, but the post system can also be mounted with a base plate under the guardrail post for bridge renovations or new construction projects.
Glass panels for RAILWAY bridges
Railway bridges usually require particularly strong structural solutions to withstand the vibrations and wind pressure of passing trains. Hammerglass BRIDGE and GROUND soundproofing systems meet the high requirements of stability and safety when installed along railway tracks.
SILENCER ON THE WALL
GROUND-2 is a CE marked noise barrier system using proven steel and Hammerglass fixing solutions. GROUND-2 is designed to be mounted on walls using bolt connections.
When the GROUND Hammerglass system is mounted on a railway bridge, all barriers are equipped with grounding bars and each section is separately grounded. A 45 degree bend at the top of the Hammerglass panels reinforces the structure while helping to effectively reduce low frequency train noise.

PASSENGER BRIDGES
Since all construction work must generally be carried out while traffic is moving on the tracks, it is necessary that the fully assembled in most constructions near the runway area and dan n can be lifted into position.
Hammer fitters assemble all the glass in place while the steel skeleton rests on the ground, then lift the entire structure into place. This type of lifting would be almost impossible with ordinary glass as the movements throughout the construction would result in glass breakage.
All glazings are individually measured and manufactured to ensure that the installation goes smoothly even if the final construction is not 100% compliant with the drawing.

PROTECTIVE SCREEN FOR RAILWAYS
A modern electrically protective roof construction for covering overhead lines. The electrical protective shielding is calculated according to the snow and wind loads as well as the wind loads of passing trains. The construction complies with the electrical safety guidelines for electrical canopy constructions for installation on railway tracks. The construction blends in with the environment while providing a solid barrier against live wires.

PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLIST BRIDGE
Flexible solutions for pedestrians and cyclists on bridges. Mounted on existing structures or with a fixing system adapted to the pedestrian and cycle bridge project. Hammerglass panels are individually manufactured after assembly of the supporting structure. The discs can be supplied clear, opal, coloured or printed and equipped with LED lighting.
THE ENTIRE BRIDGE CAN BE LIFTED INTO PLACE
In order for the discs to fit together perfectly, the entire assembly will be taken from the ground after the steel bridge structure has been assembled. All Hammerglass panels can therefore be dimensioned in a parallel trapezoid to follow precisely the contours of the ground and the horizon line.
Hammerglass panels are manufactured to exact dimensions and on site directly in the factory or assembled on site. Once assembled, the individual parts of the bridge - or the entire bridge - are lifted into place using a crane. Although the structures are strong, this type of lifting would be almost impossible with ordinary glass as the movements in the overall structure would lead to glass breakage.
With Hammerglass in the structure, the time when the roadway or track area is locked to assemble the bridge is minimised.
CUSTOMISED FASTENING SYSTEMS
Hammerglass is pleased to be actively involved in the construction phase of the bridge to ensure proper fixing and dimensioning.
Once the support structure is complete, Hammerglass panels can usually be installed directly into the structure. If the structure needs to be completed with fixing details, we will help you develop appropriate proposals.

COLOUR, PRINTING & LIGHTING
The preferred solution for pedestrian and cycle bridges is a transparent or opal Hammerglass plate. However, the possibilities for customisation are largely unlimited in terms of design, colour and lighting.

Design and assembly

The screen can be tilted to any desired angle, depending on individual requirements for sound reflection, light reflection and snow accumulation.
